Most of all, it has signalled wider conflicts to come that are taking shape now. From the demonization of China by the US, the riots and protests that are taking place across the United States and Europe, the exposure of inadequacies (putting it mildly) in the approach of Western governments to the Covid-19 crisis, we see a world on edge, questioning old established orders and intensifying at various velocities worldwide. The next quarter, starting with the Cancer ingress of the Sun, will mark a breaking point in many areas. We already see it forming, but it will be accelerated through the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> astrological quarter of this year, from June through September.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">This quarter, starting with the Cancer ingress, begins with an eclipse on an Aries point. It is a solar annular eclipse at the 1<sup>st<\/sup> degree of Cancer (0\u00b0 \u2013 1\u00b0). It will serve to change the world outlook. That will be the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> of three eclipses over the span of a month, the first one having taken place on 5 June this year. We might list them, then, and then proceed to look at what to expect for this quarter:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>5 June<\/strong>: partial lunar (full moon), 15 Sag 12, t-square with Mars apex in Pisces, south node<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>21 June<\/strong>: solar annular (new moon), 0 Can 06 (midpoint), square Mars, north node<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>5 July<\/strong>: partial lunar, (full moon), 13 Cap 59, t-square with Chiron apex in Aries, north node<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">There is a little more to this than simply having three eclipses in a row, though. These three are of particular interest because they are all on significant points in the US horoscope. The last one takes place the day after American Independence Day celebrations. So, when those eclipses are activated by transiting planets \u2013 Mars in particular \u2013 they will herald events for the US. But that is not all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The culmination lines for the Sun and Moon in the two lunar eclipses involve the US, Canada and China, with those culmination lines for the ingress eclipse running straight through East Asia. Given current tensions between the US and China, these eclipses are thus of more than a little interest to us. For the culmination lines, see <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/malvinartley.com\/PDF%20Files\/charts\/5_jun_20_eclipse.png\">here<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/malvinartley.com\/PDF%20Files\/charts\/21_jun_20_eclipse.png\">here<\/a><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/malvinartley.com\/PDF%20Files\/charts\/5_jul_20_eclipse.png\">here<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Most of the world\u2019s finances pivot around the US dollar in some way, and world manufacturing in the past few decades has centered on China. If that dollar were to collapse, or the US economy, then the world would be thrown into varying degrees of disorder, except for the Sino-Russian cooperative agreements. Europe and US allies would be particularly badly affected should the US experience major troubles. A new world order would emerge more quickly than it is now doing. Given that, where is the US most affected by these three eclipses? We have the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>5 June<\/strong>: the US Horizon axis, affecting the public mood, alliances, conflicts and legal matters. The Asc\/MC axes of the eclipse figure set for Washington, DC fell on the US natal Mars\/Neptune square, testing the ideals of the nation and affecting its image internationally (<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/malvinartley.com\/PDF%20Files\/charts\/us_eclipse_5jun_20.png\">chart<\/a><\/span>). Mars in the eclipse figure squared the US Horizon, showing the restiveness there.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>21 June<\/strong>: The US Venus and Meridian axis, affecting US leadership and Congress. The eclipse squares the US Meridian from the 7<sup>th<\/sup> house, showing conflicts. The last time this happened was in 2001, with 9\/11 resulting, and with the war in Afghanistan following when Mars activated the eclipse axis. Mars is conjunct the Ascendant of the eclipse figure, opposite the US Neptune and square the US Mars. The eclipse is quincunx Saturn, adding a heavy tone to the eclipse, even though it trines the US Midheaven. (<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/malvinartley.com\/PDF%20Files\/charts\/us_eclipse_21jun_20.png\">chart<\/a><\/span>)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>5 July<\/strong>: The US Sun. Mars in the eclipse figure is just past the US IC and Ceres squares the US Horizon from the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> house. The angles for the eclipse figure favour the angles for the US. This may mark a more positive change for the US when the eclipse is activated. But, it also shows a turning point for the US. (<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/malvinartley.com\/PDF%20Files\/charts\/us_eclipse_5jul_20.png\">chart<\/a><\/span>)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The eclipses will be activated by the Sun, in order, as follows: 7 Dec 20, 21 Dec 20 (Capricorn ingress) and 4 Jan 21. They will be activated in like manner by Mars on the following median dates: 29 Mar 21, 23 April 21 and 10 Jun 21, respectively. The activations by Mars will be in effect for a week on either side of the median date. For the Sun, the activations will be felt a few days on either side of the given dates. These eclipses will not be \u2018finished\u2019 by outer planet transits. Thus, the major effects will be seen by the Mars and Sun transits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It is not difficult to see where the US is going at the moment. The President and much of Congress are in campaign mode. <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/conference-board.org\/us-forecast\">Consumer spending was down by around 50%<\/a><\/span>. Unemployment is stated to be at around 13%, but <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/newyork.cbslocal.com\/2020\/05\/13\/unemployment-rate-worse-job-loss-coronavirus\/#:~:text=Unemployment%20jumped%20from%204.4%20percent,people%20in%20the%20labor%20force.\">the figure is probably much higher<\/a><\/span> if <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/georgia\/across-ga\/37-ga-workforce-has-filed-unemployment-labor-department\">the state of Georgia\u2019s unemployment figures<\/a><\/span> are anything to go by.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The nation is roiled by protests, with <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_O3CZYkQfOs\">political leaders seeking to make gains from them<\/a><\/span>. Bills are about to come due from the lockdowns. <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketplace.org\/2020\/06\/05\/when-does-the-expanded-covid-19-unemployment-insurance-run-out\/\">Enhanced unemployment insurance will run out<\/a><\/span> at the end of July. <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/retailers-phase-out-coronavirus-hazard-pay-for-essential-workers-11589915679\">Wages and overtime will be cut<\/a><\/span> for those who can go back to work and for people who have worked through the lockdowns. The treasury is printing money at a record rate. And there is still uncertainty about the virus. Will it come back or not? The nation is very much on edge. And then, there is China. China is to be made the major campaign issue for Republicans. It\u2019s a big gamble and <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/asiatimes.com\/2020\/06\/bannon-tells-at-us-election-is-all-about-china\/\">will greatly sour relations with China<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telesurenglish.net\/news\/Chinas-Exports-Rose-in-May-While-Imports-Fell-Amid-COVID-19-20200607-0010.html\">East is moving on since the virus hit<\/a><\/span>. Oceania is also opening up now. Asian economies look much better at the moment than those of the West. Socialism in those nations has served them well and the <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/justworldnews.org\/2020\/05\/20\/not-cold-war-2-0-more-like-imperial-collapse\/\">people of the East are going forward in confidence<\/a><\/span>, in general. With all this info in hand, the tone for the coming quarter is set.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Cancer ingress for 2020 takes place a few hours before the eclipse, at 21:44 UT. The chart is below (<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/malvinartley.com\/PDF%20Files\/charts\/cancer_ingress_20.png\">bigger<\/a><\/span>):<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1337 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/malvinartley.com\/blog.malvinartley.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/cancer_ingress_20-1024x568.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/malvinartley.com\/blog.malvinartley.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/cancer_ingress_20-1024x568.png 1024w, https:\/\/malvinartley.com\/blog.malvinartley.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/cancer_ingress_20-300x166.png 300w, https:\/\/malvinartley.com\/blog.malvinartley.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/cancer_ingress_20-768x426.png 768w, https:\/\/malvinartley.com\/blog.malvinartley.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/cancer_ingress_20.png 1437w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Sun, Moon and north node are conjunct, as one would expect for a pending eclipse. The Moon is linked by quincunx with a Jupiter\/Pluto conjunction, which will show the efforts in the media to win the masses back to confidence following the lockdowns. And in general, people\u2019s moods will be looking up. However, the Sun is linked by quincunx to Saturn, showing that restrictions are still the order of the day, as they will still be in effect at the ingress for some nations. And then, the economy will not exactly be humming along in the West.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Inhibitions in expression will also be shown by the Saturn=Venus\/Mars midpoint, and there will likely be a spike in divorce cases in the coming months. Added to that will be quick and irascible tempers, shown by the midpoint Uranus=Moon\/Mars. Tensions are building in Syria and Libya, and between the US and China. And then we have Iran and Venezuela openly opposing and even taunting the US as Washington ramps up the sanctions against a number of nations, the ones just mentioned in particular.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Oil prices will remain down and the energy sector will stay sluggish for the West, though it is booming between Russia and China. The sluggish recovery in energy and the general feeling of weakness economically is shown by the midpoint Neptune=Saturn\/Uranus, with Neptune ruling oil.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In all, this quarter will shape the election season in the US. <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/trump-slumps-in-polling-amid-protests-and-pandemic\/\">Trump\u2019s fortunes are probably going to continue to sour<\/a><\/span>. And then we have Israel getting ready to annex the West Bank, or a large part of it, which is going to precipitate a conflict in the region. The Palestinians now have nothing left to lose. Their choice is either to give up and give in, or to stand and fight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ejmagnier.com\/2020\/05\/31\/palestine-surrendering-or-preparing-for-a-third-intifada\/\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">We may just see a 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Intifada<\/span><\/a>. If so, that will involve the entire Axis of Resistance. If there is a major conflict in the Middle East, Trump will be between a rock and a hard place. <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/malvinartley.com\/blog.malvinartley.com\/2019\/04\/21\/trump-and-the-2020-election\/\">That may be what we see for him mid-summer<\/a><\/span> in the US. He will be beholden to support Israel, given his connections with Bibi, but a war in the Middle East would strain his re-election chances even further. The American public has no more stomach for war. Israel is looking at starting its <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/rejecting-settler-fears-pm-says-annexation-plan-wont-mention-palestinian-state\/\">annexations after July 1<sup>st<\/sup><\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In all, then, what we can expect for the Cancer quarter is indicated by the general aspects and midpoints to and by the Sun, as is the case in any solar ingress figure. We have the following midpoints:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Sun\/Saturn quincunx: General sense of restriction and weakness. Inability to move forward with plans, aggravated with Saturn being retrograde. More of an inward-looking dynamic that one of outward movement. Problems with male figures and\/or sick and infirmed people.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Sun\/Moon conjunction, eclipse: described above under the eclipse heading.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Sun\/Node conjunction: This is coupled with the Sun\/Saturn, above, and affects all sorts of moves toward social contacts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ura=Sun\/Nep: Sudden upsets, suddenly emerging illness or weakness, emotional upsets<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Sun=Ven\/Jup: A warm heart, kindness, good will towards others<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Sun=Ven\/Plu: \u201cGreat creativity, an unusual sense of form, deep affection. &#8211; A peculiar destiny in love.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The general tone is one of reserve and inward-looking reassessment of goals and existing initiatives. There is hope for good outcomes, but realities weigh heavy. There are strong possibilities for sudden upsets due to frustration and frayed nerves. Major focus on security for the quarter will lean toward the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region, where there is mounting instability due to the sharp drop in oil prices, lack of employment, sharp cuts to wages and sanctions cutting deeply into national purses. Add to that the plight of the Palestinians, and we see this will be an unpredictable quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Sun\/Saturn quincunx can be a difficult aspect to move past. It represents old issues\/sticking points that are difficult of resolution. That sets the primary dynamic for the quarter. The next quarter, at the Libra ingress, would appear on the surface to be better, with more movement forward and greater optimism, but there is a cautionary tale in that one, too, with some challenging planetary combinations. If proper measures are taken this quarter, in good measure, then the next quarter will yield better results. But the problem for the next quarter will be one of hubris and poor judgement, most likely the result of the frustrations encountered in the Cancerian quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In all, the Cancerian quarter will bear careful watching and handling. Trying to move too far, too fast will only result in problems later on in the year. The Cancerian quarter will be the height of the convention season in the US electoral cycle. If the Republicans try to make China the central theme of their campaign and to blame China for the problems the US is facing it will not produce a favourable outcome, either in terms of the US economy or the world outlook. The virus is still with us. It will be a volatile quarter \u2013 best to take things low and slow.
