Starting early in the morning on 26 September an explosion was registered in the Baltic Sea by the Danish Geological Survey near the island of Bornholm in the Danish economic exclusion zone. Exactly 17 hours later a second explosion was registered, this time northeast of the same island. Since then methane gas has been pouring out of the Nordstream pipelines, thus shutting off Germany\u2019s only direct supply of natural gas from Russia. It was an act of war and a heinous act of ecoterrorism, as well as endangering the lives and livelihoods of millions of Germans and other European citizens by extension. The question is, who was responsible? Read on to find out\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

What happened to those two pipelines was a clear act of sabotage, as well as a provocation. Those pipes are meant to supply Germany of it energy needs, along with much of northern Europe. The reason we know there were explosions and not earthquakes was given by a Swedish seismologist<\/a><\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA Swedish seismologist said on Tuesday he was certain the seismic activity detected at the site of the Nord Stream pipeline gas leaks in the Baltic Sea was caused by explosions and not earthquakes nor landslides.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bjorn Lund, seismologist at the Swedish National Seismic Network at Uppsala University, said seismic data gathered by him and Nordic colleagues showed that the explosions took place in the water and not in the rock under the seabed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, there is the following regarding seismic readings, according to Michael Roth, a seismologist at SNSN<\/a><\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n

“One of the explosions had a magnitude of 2.2 on the Richter scale and was registered at as many as 30 measuring stations in Sweden. “Blasts and earthquakes can be distinguished by the type of seismic waves they emit\u2026An earthquake of that magnitude would have lower frequencies than a blast. The signals related to the two events are clearly explosions\u2026 “However, we cannot deduce which source was used,” he said.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Further, Bjorn Lund added<\/span><\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026the seismic events closely resembled what the network has detected in the past when the Swedish navy has conducted training exercises using depth charges and undersea mines\u2026 the relatively shallow depth at which the explosions took place would be reachable by divers or unmanned underwater vehicles.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

And finally,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201ca second, larger explosion occurred at 7:04 p.m. “Preliminary estimates would say that this is at least equivalent to 100 kilograms of dynamite\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Somebody went to a lot of trouble to ensure those pipelines didn\u2019t transfer any gas anytime soon, if ever. Nord Stream AG<\/a><\/span> is a consortium of German, French, Danish and Russian investors. The Americans and the Poles have voiced strenuous opposition to both Nord Stream pipelines since their inception. We will have a look at the charts for both explosions.<\/span><\/p>\n
