" On 1 Jun 18 at 4:09 PM CEDT in Rome, the new Italian government was sworn in as Giuseppe Conte took over the role of Italy’s Prime Minister. Also sworn in a minute or two later were Matteo Salvini of the Lega Nord (Northern League) Party as the interior minister and Luigi Di Maio of the Cinque Stelle (Five Star) Party as Labor and Economic Development minister... We are likely to see quite a lot of alarmist press out of Europe as Italians seek to ease their situation and reclaim their economic and social sovereignty. Their best bet is to ally themselves with other countries in a similar situation – Spain, Portugal and Ireland, for instance – and bring pressure to bear on Brussels and the ECB.
