On 17 Sep 2021, the procedure was started for Iran to become a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This comes as the culmination of what will come to be known as one of the most terrible months in foreign policy for the Anglo West in recent memory. But first, one of my faves from Cream, which will give a hint to the purpose of this post:
Now that the dust is beginning to settle a little after these historic few days in Afghanistan, we begin this post paraphrasing the immortal words of Roger Daltrey: “Meet the new boss. He’s not the same as the old boss.” Western media is in full flight at the moment with disaster porn, frightening pictures of people falling from airplanes as they try to flee Afghanistan, sensational pictures of mobs scrambling to get on those planes, claims of people fearing for their lives under the Taliban, and on and on. To hear the media tell it, Afghanistan is facing dystopia and regression into a new Dark Ages. What is the truth on the ground there now, though? We’ll explore that here in this second part along with the astrology of the event. But we can be sure that recriminations will resound in the NATO halls of power for years to come over what was clearly an epic fail in intelligence, among other epic fails. Receiving little notice or discussion in the mainstream press, Iran and China have just signed a comprehensive strategic agreement, stretching over 25 years, to the tune of upwards of $500 billion. In other words, this is a permanent agreement, if one thinks in the long term, as do most Asian nations. The agreement will be a boon to both Iran and China – a win-win agreement for sure. It will also mark some serious re-thinking of strategies in the West relative to Asia and especially to the Middle East, now known as West Asia. The Beltway is not happy about the agreement, for obvious reasons given their current animosity to both Iran and to China. This agreement bears a closer look, as it marks the start of big changes to come in the power base in West Asia and American influence therein. Not even two weeks after Biden’s inauguration in the US, there was what was widely called a coup in Myanmar. In the first post on this blog regarding events there, I put forward the scenario that what was taking place was not your standard coup, but a ‘readjustment’ of sorts. Now there is little doubt as to what is happening in Myanmar: We are watching yet another attempt at a color revolution in that troubled land. Conspiracy? Chinese interference? Another military takeover? The Russians are behind it? Read on. But the violence taking place in Myanmar has an old familiar smell and the true colors of the belligerents are starting to show. Narrative, that is. By all appearances, to many commentators the US has entered a new Cold War, this time with China. Russia has now been relegated to second place in the annals of American enmity. That doesn’t mean Russia is off the books, far from it. But the new great power competition in the eyes of the US is all about countering China. The question is, do we really need to do so, and if so, why? We will explore that here, along with some astrology. This will be Part I of a two-part article on why relations have gone so far south between the US and China, especially given the latest manifestation of blaming China for the coronavirus pandemic. Just when we thought things were getting interesting in the Middle East, just when we thought Brexit was going to happen/not happen – who knows any more – the Italians have come along and given us something else to talk about. On the 23rd of March they went ahead and did the unthinkable, at least in the eyes of Washington and the head honchos in Brussels – they became the first G7 country to join China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Washington is not happy. Macron is aghast, as are many in Brussels. Secretly, other European states are looking at it and going, “Why not?” The Germans and the French are probably jealous. I had forecast before that big challenges were coming for Europe, meaning the EU, and it was not just about Brexit. I, for one, think the EU will survive. “We are just about to enter the Libra interval for 2018 with the equinox and the Libra ingress. The full moon of this period is becoming of increasing importance for us as we slowly attain to the Aquarian Age, and the full moon of the Libra interval will therefore receive more than the average emphasis, by nature of what it represents. The activity of the planet Venus is thus more and more pronounced as an outer emphasis, with Uranus acting behind the scenes and with people who are able to respond to it in a positive manner. This is a powerful pairing of planets, leading to greater integration between the higher and lower mind and thereafter to reorganization of life along more spiritual lines. As a result, we are seeing transitions, shifts in the balance of power in the world, shifts in relations between nations, some of which have existed for many centuries, a shift from the West to the East in terms of economic power, and so forth.
