As was forecast for the Capricorn quarter last year, the year thus far has been a pretty wild ride. Between Trump, the DOGE, the reshuffling of American politics, events in Ukraine and Europe, events in West Asia, we might think the worst is behind us, that peace is coming. It’s just around the corner, right? Maybe…..or maybe not. The Sun enters Aries today, the 20th of March. From appearances this quarter may be calmer than the one just passed. But appearances can be deceiving. For more, read on…
As we move into the astrological New Year in Western astrology there are hopes that this year will see events turn around in the public’s favour. We hope to see an end to the terrible wars in Ukraine and West Asia, an upturn in Western economies, and end to globalism and saner social values, and so on. Should we be hopeful for those things? Hope springs eternal, so we here. At the same time we have to be realistic.
Much of what we will see over this quarter will depend upon what the United States does in relation to world affairs, and especially its relations with Europe and West Asia. A quick look at the underlying energies, represented by the solar arcs to the US chart, are quite indicative. The synastry is shown below (bigger):
The general scheme and timing is as follows: Starting with Trump’s inauguration we saw the immediate attempt at rebranding, shown by the solar arcs to the MC (sitting government) and Mars sesquisquare to the US Sun. On 2 April this year, which Trump has hailed as ‘Liberation Day’, transiting Neptune will activate the solar arc of Uranus to the MC, the indications being that the introduction of the tariffs he will be imposing will not result in the windfall he is expecting. More likely, it will result in an international trade war against the United States.
We already see the internal struggles and uncertainty across the US, due not simply to Trump but to a long litany of policies across administrations, shown by the mutual Saturn/Neptune solar arcs. These will respectively be exact in 3 – 6 months.
A turn in America’s destiny is shown by the solar arc of the MC to the Ceres/Uranus square, the exact square to Ceres coming in 6 months. The turns in events are already in evidence, while the exact solar arc of the MC to Uranus will be in about 9 months, at the end of this year.
We saw the efforts at diplomacy with Russia begin with the solar arc of Venus to the Vertex, a mere three weeks ago. The negotiations will increase as time rolls on. At the same time we saw the US belligerence toward Yemen and Iran begin with the solar arc of the Sun square the US Mars starting two weeks ago. So, we see we have a full plate with US-foreign relations going forward. What about this quarter? To get an idea, the chart for the ingress is below (bigger):
The immediate standout in the chart is the partile Sun/Neptune conjunction across signs. Neptune is in Pisces, approaching 0° Aries within minutes of arc. On the other side of th Sun we see Mercury and Venus both in their retrograde phases approaching their respective inferior conjunctions with the Sun (Venus on the 23rd at 01:06 UTC and Mercury on the next day at 19:47 UTC), where they will form the midpoint Sun=Mer/Ven:
-
- Sun=Mer/Ven: “An appreciation and keen sense of physical form, sculpture, architecture, a sense of beauty, vanity or conceit, self-glorification. – Sympathy and compassion, thoughts of love, creative activity, an art which can be of practical use, recognition.”
The Moon is also in a separating trine with the Sun/Neptune, indicating imagination and goodwill can be put to wise use. On the surface what we see thus far paints a picture of what could turn out to be a very fortunate quarter, and it may do so – but in what directions is the question.
This quarter also points to projects being implemented that could lead to wealth over time (Mars trine Saturn), and we know that Trump wants rapprochement with Russia to eventually end the war in Ukraine in order to open opportunities for business exchange between the US and Russia.
The Sun/Neptune conjunction is sextile to Pluto, which can be found in the charts of people with clairvoyance and psychic abilities. In this case it points to visionary people in the realm of international relations and helps in terms of diplomacy, especially in terms of bringing people together in general, since the Sun is on the north node.
In fact, what we see aside from all these factors just mentioned is a stellium of planets across Pisces and Aries – the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Chiron and Eris in Aries, along with Saturn, Neptune and the north node in Pisces, all within the space of 30° across signs. It is a powerful concentration of planetary forces. On the one hand the Pisces emphasis is upon releasing past ideals, emotions and constructs that hinder moving forward into, on the other hand the more promising planetary energies on the Aries side of the stellium.
Finally in terms of the planetary aspects in the chart we see a sextile between Saturn and Uranus, an aspect especially inclined to inventive genius. It is also a supporting aspect that brings unexpected gains, especially from older experienced people. So, the aspects are all well and good. What about the midpoints?
The most important midpoints in this chart, as we might surmise, are those to the Sun. We have the following string:
-
- Sun=Nep=Mer/Sat=Ura/Plu
The tendency with the Sun/Neptune conjunction, unless in Taurus, is for confusion, unrealistic expectations, scattering of energies by itself. The sextile with Pluto adds some stability and vision. But when we move into the Mer/Sat midpoint the dynamic becomes one of mental blockages, separations and changes in general. Add to the preceding the Ura/Plu midpoint we have a very volatile combination, with sudden upsets, accidents and violence due to one or other parties seeking to enforce a particular point of view. This will not be a peaceful quarter.
Since we are looking at the Aries ingress of the Sun, Mars has to be considered as well. Even though Mars is trine to Saturn, it is also square to Eris and it is out-of-bounds. It also forms the midpoint Mars=Mer/Plu, which on the one side points to indefatigability, but on the other toward the desire to attack others and blackmail. The latter fits with the Trump administration with the Israelis, who are seeking to provoke a war with Iran. Trump basically ‘has a gun to his head’ regarding Iran, with all the Israeli-first donors and the Israel lobby who would like nothing better than to launch an attack on Iran.
Uranus also features in the midpoints, especially the midpoint Ura=Sun/Mars:
-
- Ura=Sun/Mars: “Premature action or hastiness, impulsive behaviour, the tendency to do one’s work in a state of excitement, the overtaxing of one’s strength. – Sudden events, adjustment to new conditions or circumstances, change of vocation, military call-up.”
And
-
- Ura=Mars/Nep: “Changing energy-levels, states of weakness emerging suddenly. – Sudden disadvantages caused through lack of energy, a crisis in life, an illness or an accident.”
Finally, at the start of the quarter we note Mars is still out-of-bounds and is approaching its last opposition to Pluto this year. The full moon of April and the eclipse of the 29th of March this year both feature that opposition. To give a preview of what that might preview, there is the following from an analysis of the full moon for 13 April:
“…Mars is in-bounds, closing in on its final opposition (already in effect) to Pluto for this year, exact at the 27th of April and square to the new moon on the 29th of this month. All the planets are in-bounds now, indicating their normal functioning. In fact, the new moon of Taurus forms the apex of a close t-square with the Mars/Pluto opposition as the base. What does all this mean? – Much as what we saw for the Capricorn quarter, events are about to get quite ‘bumpy’.
From this full moon and afterward it is forecast to be a very restive (and violent) period, while at the same time being very clarifying. The reasons for saying so will be covered in the remainder of this letter. It will be like the wild thunderstorm that clears the air for the days that follow. What we can expect to see in terms of events are violent measures, upsets, the intervention of a ‘higher power’ (‘Acts of God’), acts of ruthlessness and in general, people and nations ‘showing their hand’. These lunations will serve to produce – or they will presage – events that will serve to draw out the souls of people and nations alike. Another way of stating the matter is that the soul shows its qualities in times of crises.”
It is useful at this point to take a quick review of the major points from the Capricorn quarter forming the backdrop for this quarter:
- Major transport accidents on land and in air with many deaths, too many to mention.
- Ukraine turned off the supply of Russian gas to Europe through its pipelines.
- Large ‘acts of God’ such as the Tibet quake, the LA fires, for instance
- Yoon was impeached and arrested in South Korea after he attempted a coup
- Israel and Hamas approved a ceasefire, which Israel promptly broke
- The DOGE began a pogrom against Democrat initiatives in the US. Call it what you like, but this is no ‘revolution’. Backlash against Trump initiatives is gathering steam in the US.
- The ceasefire in Lebanon, as it was called, was extended and continues to be broken by Israel
- The stock crash of Nvidia due to the rollout of DeepSeek
- Sharaa/Jolani appointed himself as president of Syria
- Russia and the US are working at re-establishing diplomatic relations. The EU is in disarray as a result.
- An ongoing pogrom against Alawites, Christians and Shia was started in Syria, with many thousands of the same massacred
- Mark Carney became PM of Canada after Trudeau stepped down
- Trump’s on-again-off-again trade war
- Nationwide protests erupted in Türkiye upon the arrest of Istanbul mayor. This may be another attempt at a coup in Türkiye by the usual suspects. Israel is particularly worried about Erdogan.
There is much more we could add, but it is enough to show that the Capricorn quarter was indeed a wild ride. That is set to continue, especially the first half of this quarter. What are we to expect, then?
We can expect increasing bluster about West Asia, especially regarding Iran. This is coming due to the fact that Israel is becoming increasingly weak, all the while being armed to the teeth by the US and Europeans. Trump’s threats against Iran will not have any effect. The Iranians are standing firm and play a long game. Trump is after a grand deal in the region and that depends upon Iran coming to the table, which is not likely no matter how much Trump threatens the Iranians. His threats only make the situation worse.
European consensus on Russia is quickly falling apart. For some reason the European public does not want to go to war against Russia, no matter how much some of the elites would like to. But the war in Ukraine will drag on. The European governments who are trying their hardest to keep us all terrified of Russia need this war to continue. Otherwise, once it ends the attention will be turned back on those governments, with a long list of uncomfortable questions being asked by the public.
We might see a coup in Türkiye, given the protests there. Erdogan is embattled and is facing a difficult period. The Israelis are facing the threat of the Turks taking over the whole of Syria. The Russians are expanding their air base in Latakia. The Israelis are bombing infrastructure that would be useful for the Turks. The situation in Syria is quite unstable and volatile.
In the US Trump’s honeymoon period ends in April, after which he will be facing a serious crisis. Opposition to his policies are mounting. He will face pressures from West Asia, from within America itself, from his trade wars, and so on. He may be facing a serious health crisis, too, from late April to the first part of May. At the very least his astrology shows a crisis in his presidency. At the same time a major crisis is shown for the US itself, showing a general sense of paralysis as to initiatives.
What we are seeing is a grand reshuffling across the Western world, as well as a growing consolidation of power and progress in the Global South, as the developing nations are called. The crises we will see in this quarter are needed, in a sense, to clear a pathway to a more cooperative and peaceful world. The situation in West Asia is the key to this, where the Zionist challenge must be resolved. It is doubtful the regime in Israel will survive this period. The challenges they have placed before themselves are too great.
Expect energy prices to rise, and thereby a host of other goods, because trade routes will be interrupted, trade wars will take their toll and the uncertainty about real and/or possible conflicts will conspire to keep prices high. The gold price (and all commodity prices) are a pretty sure indicator of the amount of insecurity in the world. Gold here in Italy is now over $2,700/oz, and inches higher by the day, for example.
In closing, always remember the old saying used by the elites: Never let a good crisis go to waste. Fortunes are being made by the few as tensions elevate ever-higher. Meanwhile the public suffers. It is the stuff by which revolutions are made. The remainder of this year will be devoted to what can be called a profound shaking and sifting of the world order. As best we can, remain serene within ourselves, tend to our health, family and community and work toward peace.
