The Sun entered the sign Cancer early in the morning of June 21st UTC. We were in what was to be the last days of a brief war between Israel and Iran, which will be covered in a separate post. On the day after the ingress Trump launched an attack on the Iranian uranium enrichment facilities, which at the time seemed as though the act might provoke a regional war with devastating consequences. But only a couple of days after that, a tentative cessation of hostilities is in effect. No analyst worth their salt expects it to last, at which point the war would flare up again, entering its next phase. That conflict has set the tone for this quarter, as we will see. This quarter, like the Aries quarter, looks to be a restive, even violent one. For more about what this quarter should bring, read on…
The Sun entered Cancer at 02:42 UTC on 21 Jun 2025. The chart is below (bigger):

This is quite an interesting chart, as well as being complicated in its interpretation. Altogether, the interconnected aspect patterns form a geometric shape that resembles a house, with Venus at the peak of the ‘roof’, depending on which way one turns the chart. At the base of the chart are two yods, with a quincunx of Mars and Pluto connecting them at the base of the house pattern. This is the underlying dynamic underpinning the entire chart. It is an aspect that speaks of the desire for power and influence, while at the same time illustrating internal conflicts that must be overcome if ones goals are to be achieved. Geopolitically it shows the militant nature of the quarter, with the probability (I would say) of overconfident parties seeking military solutions to their perceived woes.
Tying the entire ‘house’ pattern together is a square (the ‘ceiling’ in the house), with a Sun/Jupiter conjunction on one end and a Saturn/Neptune conjunction at the other end. The two conjunctions form one end each of the bases of the two yods. The two conjunctions are also diametrically opposed as to their actions, creating a strong push-pull within the chart that creates a tremendous drive toward desired outcomes. We have the following concerning the two conjunctions, considering we are looking at a mundane chart:
-
- Sun/Jupiter: Health, joy, recognition – wealthy people, people of prominence, persons higher up in the social scale than oneself.
- Saturn/Neptune: Suffering, renunciation, asceticism – poor, sick or depressed persons. The methodical execution of plans, the slow attainment of success through intense activity and great painstaking effort.
The desired outcomes are colored by the Mars/Pluto quincunx at the base of the house pattern, connecting the two apex planets of the yods. The yod with the Mars apex has the Saturn/Neptune conjunction sextile Pluto. The other yod has Pluto as the apex planet with the Sun/Jupiter conjunction sextile to Mars.
In terms of relative power, the yod with Pluto apex would appear on the surface to have more power and influence, especially with the expansive and energetic sextile at the base. The yod with the Mars apex, on the other hand has its own power due to the sextile at the base, pointing to the methodical execution of plans, exhibiting as “the slow attainment of success through intense activity and great painstaking effort.” There is a sort of ‘tortoise and the hare’ competition between the two yods. In terms of endurance, the Mars apex yod wins out because the base gives the power to endure because of the readiness to sacrifice for a goal. The sextile at the base of the other yod is all about flash, power and strength, but without a long-term vision, with the Pluto apex showing internal divisions and sabotaging elements that can cause plans to come undone.
Since we are looking at a solar ingress chart the aspects to the Sun are of primary consideration. The Sun is square to the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, as mentioned before. The Sun square to Saturn describes uncompromising ambition, while the Sun square to Neptune points to hypersensitivity and a generalized disillusionment (in the end), as well as propensity to self-deception, exploitation, chaotic conditions and unrealistic plans. We already saw this in international affairs with the 12 day war between Iran and Israel, meaning Israel’s intentions were for a quick victory over Iran, but due to poor planning and over-ambition the plans didn’t work out. Israel was almost ruined and had to sue for peace. We aren’t allowed to know that, though.
We also see the Sun/Jupiter conjunction which in normal circumstances points to optimism, gains, creative powers and the ability to perform record achievements. But with the square to Saturn/Neptune any efforts may start out optimistically and appear to be on the way to great success, but the Saturn/Neptune influence will tend to sabotage the plans because there would be a fundamental flaw in the execution of the plans. Plans come crashing down to a reality check.
Military matters will be uncertain, shown by the yod in which Mars forms the apex. Mars (military and energy in general) has its only positive aspects to the Sun/Jupiter conjunction, with which Mars forms a sextile. That is a tremendous combination for success and well-directed energy. But once again, the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, to which Mars forms a quincunx, spoils the soup and introduces obstacles and insecurity.
There is one group of people who will benefit from this chart, and those are the oligarchs (Pluto). Pluto is sextile to the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, giving insight and calculated success. Pluto is in an applying trine with Uranus, with the Saturn/Neptune forming the apex of a triangle and midpoint of the trine. This is a combination that is ripe for revolutionary change – as in a change in the world order. But with the Neptunian element at the apex of the triangle there will be unexpected developments. Then we come to Venus, which is the focal point of the planetary house pattern.
Venus sits at the midpoint of the Sun/Jupiter/Saturn/Neptune square combination. It also focuses the power or becomes the sore point of the entire chart. It receives only semisquares as aspects. It is therefore under stress. Venus is associated with finance and economics, as well as with women in general. It sits at an interesting degree, related to our current challenges:
-
- “An old teacher fails to interest his students in traditional knowledge.” 16th degree of Taurus
Another way of stating that symbol is that we always seem to forget the lessons of the past. The people and groups who do pay attention to the wisdom of the ages usually come out much better for their efforts. In international affairs we are looking at those cultures which go to form civilization states. Those nations tend to have more strategic patience and depth than newer nations comprised of many cultures. They carry the wisdom born of experience, as well as not being bound by a 4 or 6 year election cycle.
With the Saturn/Neptune conjunction we see the struggle between materialistic and idealistic tendencies. This is near the Aries/World View point, to be conjunct that point early next year. We are getting a taste of what that will mean now, especially relating to economics. That also relates to the idealism of the West and the pragmatism of the East, the latter working to resolve their material well-being and security interests. Then, speaking of women when it comes to Venus, there is also the following midpoint:
-
- Sun=Moon/Uranus: “A physique easily aroused by emotion, ambitious aspirations, self-willedness. – A nervous male type, an ambitious wife. – A masculine woman.”
This midpoint pretty well describes the leadership of Europe, minus much of Eastern Europe. Western Europe is a mess in terms of its leadership at the moment. Speaking of masculine women, there are several women in EU leadership who are bigger warmongers than many of the men in leadership – Ursula von der Leyen, Kaja Kallas, Annalena Baerbock, Maia Sandu – and there are others. Or maybe they are simply ‘ambitious wives’. And as for ‘nervous men’, some of those have been excoriated in social media lately – Kier Starmer (call boys), Macron (speaking of masculine women), Merz (Whose line is it, anyway?), for starters. What does all of the preceding mean, then? Well, we have to look at what has been left to us as a legacy from the last quarter to get a better idea of where we are going. We have the following from the forecast for the Aries quarter:
-
- …the tendency with the Sun/Neptune conjunction, unless in Taurus, is for confusion, unrealistic expectations, scattering of energies by itself. The sextile with Pluto adds some stability and vision. But when we move into the Mer/Sat midpoint the dynamic becomes one of mental blockages, separations and changes in general. Add to the preceding the Ura/Plu midpoint we have a very volatile combination, with sudden upsets, accidents and violence due to one or other parties seeking to enforce a particular point of view. This will not be a peaceful quarter.
- [Mars] on the one side points to indefatigability, but on the other toward the desire to attack others and blackmail. The latter fits with the Trump administration with the Israelis, who are seeking to provoke a war with Iran. Trump basically ‘has a gun to his head’ regarding Iran, with all the Israeli-first donors and the Israel lobby who would like nothing better than to launch an attack on Iran.
- We can expect increasing bluster about West Asia, especially regarding Iran.
- It is doubtful the regime in Israel will survive this period. The challenges they have placed before themselves are too great.
- In the US Trump’s honeymoon period ends in April, after which he will be facing a serious crisis. Opposition to his policies are mounting. He will face pressures from West Asia, from within America itself, from his trade wars, and so on.
Most of those items came to pass. Israel made a terrible blunder in seeking to topple the Iranian leadership. They paid dearly for it in the 12 day war and had not realized the power of Iran’s missiles, nor the resilience of the Iranian state. We have yet to see how that will affect the current extremist government in Israel. Trump’s tariffs backfired on him seriously. The US has shown itself to be completely untrustworthy in negotiations due to the Israeli attack on Iran, about which the US was fully cognizant and involved. What other events did we see during that quarter of note?:
- A major power outage at Heathrow Airport caused by a fire at a substation that shut down the airport. 1,000 flights were cancelled.
- One of the worst wildfires in South Korea’s history
- The 2025 Myanmar Earthquake
- Trump’s ‘Independence Day’ tariffs were introduced. The world balked. TACO became a meme.
- Impeachment of Yoon Suk Yeol in South Korea
- Roof collapse during a Rubby Perez concert kills over 200 people, including Perez.
- 148 people died after a wooden boat caught fire and capsized in the DRC.
- Pope Francis passed on. Pope Leo XIV took the baton.
- There was a huge explosion at the port at Bandar Abbas in Iran. 70 people were killed. A sign of things to come?
- The Lapu-Lapu Day car ramming attack. 11 people were killed.
- The 2025 Iberian Peninsula blackout
- The 2025 India-Pakistan conflict. Yet another sign of things to come?
- The 2025 Romanian election farce
- Operation Spiderweb (drone attack on Russia’s nuclear bombers) The trial run for things to come?
- The 2025 Los Angeles anti-deportation protests
- Air India Flight 171 crashed, killing all but one person on board. 269 dead.
- The things to come finally came, when Israel made an unprovoked sneak attack on Iran. The result was the 12-day war. This was described in detail in the Gemini letter.
And then, on the 2nd day of this quarter, the US bombed the Iranian uranium enrichment facilities. The war for Western hegemony, for destabilizing and even crashing BRICS is on. Then in retaliation the Iranians bombed the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. There were no casualties in either attack. Both attacks were geopolitical theatre, meant to give both the US and Iran off-ramps and victories from the conflict. Israel was forced to cease its hostilities on Iran. There is a video that gives the entire story. That brings us to the current quarter. What can we expect?
What we have from the geopolitical angle for this quarter is the ongoing struggle between the financial systems of the Western oligarchic financialized economies and the rising multipolar mixed and industrialized economies developing in the so-called Global South. The old Western powers centered in the US are seeking to disrupt the rise of multipolarism, seeing Iran as the linchpin that must somehow be ‘dealt with’. They just tried a military solution, which didn’t work. It failed because they miscalculated Iran’s strength and society, at the same time overestimating their own capabilities. This sort of dynamic will run throughout this quarter. It is represented in the two yods described above.
In terms of economics and finance this quarter will be unstable. It is shown in the following midpoint sequence:
-
- Venus=Sun/Jupiter=Saturn/Neptune
Basically what we have is the struggle between the elites and the struggling masses, in this case referring to the distribution of wealth. This is actually the primary struggle. It is one that is almost as old as money itself. But in this quarter it is magnified. However, in terms of the emerging order the struggle is between the money-printers based in the financialized economies (Sun/Jupiter) and the emerging economies who are industrializing (Saturn/Neptune) and using the wealth thus generated to build their societies. The latter are the BRICS nations and all the other nations who aspire to such a model.
Cancerians place a high value on family, property and security. Security matters will be brought to the forefront, given the surprise attacks that just happened in Russia and Iran. The US is having to face the same within its own borders, as are the nations of Western Europe. Alliances (Venus) will come under stress because of security concerns. There will be strong crackdowns on foreign influences in many nations. We see this especially in Iran and the US. Russia is facing similar stresses. The EU is slowly coming around to the same situation because of the open borders policies.
Speaking of alliances and diplomacy (Venus again) the US and Israel have just shown they are not to be trusted. A great veil has been lifted because of the 12 day war we just witnessed. Every nation now has to face the ugly truths about the liberal world order instead of the beautiful lies about freedom, democracy, human rights and so on that the liberal elites have used to justify their actions – actions that contradict the beautiful words. No nation will trust the United States as a negotiating partner given what we have just seen.
Yet, with all that has just taken place, and strange as it may seem, a fertile field for truth-telling and future diplomacy has opened for nations and people who have consistently shown good faith and honesty in their dealings. The masks have come off the façade of strength of some of the world’s powers. We probably do not need to name them. There has been a large shift in perception about who actually wields power in this world and who is actually strong. There is fear in the halls of power in the West now, fear of losing their pride of place and standing. Meanwhile other nations are beginning to realize there is strength in numbers and in ethical conduct.
In all, this is going to be a most interesting, infuriating, enlightening, revolutionary and challenging quarter. Let conflict bring enlightenment. Most of all, let us all work to build a secure, forward-looking and just future for our local and world communities.
