The Aries ingress of the Sun 2026

On 20 March 2026 the Sun enters the sign Aries, inaugurating the astrological New Year for 2026. It marks the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere and the autumn equinox for the southern hemisphere. This figure reveals a great concentration of force which we will address here as well as a different dynamic from what we’ve seen in the past few quarters. For more, read on…

As stated in the introduction, the solar ingress occurs on 20 March of this year at 14:46 UTC. The chart for the ingress is below (bigger):

The immediate stand out of the chart is the Sun conjunct Saturn and Neptune, forming a powerful trio, all them conjunct via the Sun’s powerful orb. Mars and Neptune are in mutual reception, with Mars at 14° of Pisces. There are five of the standard planets in Aries, which include the Sun, Moon, Venus, Saturn and Neptune. The sister planet to Mars and Pluto, Eris is in Aries as well, conjunct Chiron. Mercury is making its direct station and will turn direct in two days. That is currently in Pisces conjunct the North Node. We will get to what all this means momentarily.

We also see two linked sextiles in the chart, forming a triangle. Many astrologers wouldn’t allow it but there is a wide out-of-sign trine between Uranus and Pluto forming the triangle with the Sun, Saturn and Neptune conjunction.

Mars is trine Jupiter, which is a wealth building aspect, with both in water signs. Mars is weak in Pisces, but Jupiter is exalted and in Cancer. The latter is an indication of financial prosperity, nurturing of people and projects. The weak Mars shows that any conflict will be fluid and unpredictable, especially for the aggressor, and tends toward self-sacrifice and creativity over overt action. Wise will be the person who uses this ingress for creative project building over open conflict and warfare. Great financial and creative works can be had from the person or nation who is inclined toward conflict resolution and the fostering of partnerships in contrast to one who seeks only conquest and victory.

The entire figure forms a modified bundle chart with Jupiter being outside the bundle and being the leading planet (the planet that rises first), which points toward a more expansive quarter. Overall the bundle indicates a very focused and concentrated effort toward singular goals. What does all this mean then?

In past posts we have looked at the Saturn/Neptune conjunction at the zero Aries point, that synodic conjunction often indicating changes in finance and economics. With the Sun forming a conjunction of the three via the Sun’s aura, as it were, this quarter will be involved primarily in the changing of the economic order, especially for the post-World War II system imposed by the Allied powers at the end of the war. This is being dismantled at this very moment in the Persian Gulf as a result of Operation Epic Fury, by the Iranians instead of the Americans and Gulf monarchies.

The consequences of this war will be long-term, painful for the Western powers, and probably permanent in terms of the next decades. The Iranians are only letting ships pass the Strait of Hormuz if they pay in Chinese yuan, which upends the petrodollar system. These points will be covered more in the monthly letters on the main site.

As a result of this war, our worldview has been suddenly changed. No longer is the West the dominant financial or military power in the world. That image has been wiped away in a matter of days. Iran stands steadfast, continually firing missiles onto Israeli and American targets, whereas Washington and Israel had hoped that by killing many of the top leadership in Iran the war would only last a couple of days. It was absolute incompetence to have embarked on such a mission. Now we are paying the price for Washington’s incompetence and Tel Aviv’s imperialist ambitions.

Other powers are rising. The Aries ingress always holds the possibility for change in the worldview. In the next quarter, starting with the Cancer ingress the financial and security situation in the world is likely to be unclear and unstable, upended as a result of the current war. In looking at the astrology from now through the middle of the year it seems rather clear that this war will continue at the very least for some weeks and probably for months. Washington always seeks for a quick victory, whereas what we are looking at now is a slower war of attrition. In such a scenario, the Americans and Israelis will shortly have to reconsider their options. Iran has planned for a long war and the government and institutions within Iran are showing no signs at present of collapse.

Being a war of attrition, and seeing the fact that the Strait of Hormuz will be very difficult to pry open, it becomes clear why we are looking at a reorganization of economic and financial transactions across the West. The East, on the other hand is progressing apace toward installing their own financial system, which does not depend on the US dollar. With Jupiter as the leading planet in the chart, we see that finance and financial gains are the main factors that will determine how soon this war ends.

Jupiter forms a semisquare with Uranus in this chart and likewise squares Venus and the Moon, pointing toward unexpected outcomes as well as the stresses involved in diplomacy and public sentiment. The Iranians are in no hurry to end the war. On the other hand, Washington is in a big hurry to call for a cease-fire, with reports that Steve Witkoff has been texting the Iranian Foreign Minister directly and through third parties for talks on a cease-fire. For the Iranians, given that they were attacked during negotiations on the nuclear program, have no interest at all in speaking again with the United States.

There are two midpoints of particular interest in this chart, considering the pressing matter of this military campaign. The first midpoint is the following:

    • Ceres=Saturn/Uranus: A crossroad is reached as a result of quarrels, separation, the use of force, interventions in one’s destiny and the limitation of freedom.

This describes what the Americans and Israelis are facing against Iran. For the Iranians and the BRICS nations the implications of this midpoint are that of the growth of strength which comes through the overcoming difficulties, with difficult but successful battles in life for the purpose of overcoming a dangerous situation. Saturn/Uranus combinations highlight violent people in mundane charts as well as irritability, inhibitions and tensions. The involvement of Ceres in this midpoint points toward a change of direction or standing at a crossroads. Mercury making its direct station highlights this midpoint, as if communications are at a momentary standstill as the battle progresses.

The next midpoint to consider is as follows:

    • Mars=Sun/Uranus: a person prone to hasty physical action, precipitation and rash action. Injury, accident.

This midpoint certainly describes Washington’s rush to war along with Israel, precipitated through ignorance of Iran’s capabilities and Washington’s faulty intelligence. Take the latter point as you will. Military professionals have gamed a war with Iran many times and in every occasion, America loses the war.

Given there is such a concentration of planetary placements in Aries, we do in fact see a new order arising as a result of the conflict we are seeing. How does this fit in terms of what was set in place from the last quarter? Well, what we saw in the last quarter primarily was the instability in metals markets, caused by insecurity due to soaring deficits in public debt, inflation that refuses to fade, the credibility of central banks coming under fire, and shifting investor psychology with the return of bond vigilantes. There were also the looming revelations from the Epstein files from which Trump and his cohorts needed distraction. And it was mentioned in the previous ingress post that:

“When economies get into trouble the bankers and the elites will find a means to distract the public and boost spending. And in the past that has meant taking the nation to war. We see rumblings of it in Europe, the US and Israel, the latter joined at the hip with the US. And if Trump is staring down the tunnel at becoming a lame duck after the midterms, well, anything is possible.”

That appears to be exactly what has happened. The two eclipses we just had have pointed to this conflict and have seen it both precipitate, and to escalate. The latest escalation came with the joint US-Israeli strikes on the South Pars gas field. In response the Iranians struck oil and gas infrastructure in the Persian Gulf that were connected with American interests. The uncertainty you see within the Persian Gulf is now at a very high level.

To be addressed in the upcoming Pisces letter, we need to prepare ourselves for the fact that the Israelis are determined that this war in West Asia continues until they are satisfied that the Iranian state collapses. Given the way things are going and the rapid depletion of weapons, along with the resistance of Iran – not to mention the fact that Hezbollah, Iraqi militias, and Ansar Allah in Yemen are now all participants in the war on the side of Iran – this has become a regional war with Iran’s and The Resistance’s stated aim of driving Washington out of the region and ending the Zionist regime in Israel. From that alone, we see that this is going to take some time.

Prepare yourselves, because with prices going up even now, we can expect much higher prices for food and fuel in the very near future. Pray and hold the light that this war ends sooner rather than later. These next months and perhaps the remainder of this year are likely to be a very rough ride. Stay safe, stay well, and look after yourselves, your family and your communities.
