The 2026 US midterm elections

On November 3, 2026 the midterm elections for the Senate, House and state Governors took place in the United States. The result was a wipeout of the Republican Party dominance of the U.S. Congress and the Republican majority of Governors of the individual states. What follows here is an analysis of why the vote swung so far away from Republicans and what it means for the presidency and the country going forward.

Prior to the midterm elections, there were many comments by astrologers, who were looking at the chart of Donald Trump, in an attempt to gauge the outcome of the elections. Instead, the place to really look for the outcome is the chart of the United States itself. What follows as an astrological analysis is based on the US Sibley chart (for July 1776, 5:10 PM, Philadelphia, PA).

There are many proposed charts for the US, but the Sibley chart is based on the signing of the Declaration of Independence. For readers more esoterically focused, Dane Rudhyar had done his own rectification of the Sibley chart, giving an ascendant a degree later in Sagittarius. I have used the Sibley chart for years and found it to be accurate enough, as well as descriptive of the United States, although in this case both charts apply with regard to one important factor.

Plebiscites such as elections are primarily ruled by Uranus and Neptune. For elections such as this one we would need to look at both planets and how they were affecting the United States. We would also need to look at the Meridian axis and its rulers to see if a change of government was in the air. Most pundits were predicting a rout of the Republican party, which is represented by the 10th house and Venus (sitting government), since Libra rules the 10th house. The chart for the US with transits and solar arcs on the day is below (bigger):

The first thing we notice is the heavy influence on Venus coming from the bottom half of the chart. We see directions from Ceres, Uranus and Mercury aspecting Venus, the latter which rules the 10th house, all activated by a quincunx from transiting Pluto from the second house. Change was definitely indicated, along with the end of old election strategies. Pluto from the second house shows that the economy was probably the major factor bedeviling the administration.

Conversely, we see a direction Venus squaring the horizon axis and aspecting natal Pluto. The square by Venus, representing the sitting government shows that the government was at odds with the will of the people (Horizon axis). The directed Venus was in the third house, showing that the messaging from the administration just did not connect with the American people.

Then we come to a most interesting transit, which was that of Neptune in its retrograde phase in conjunction with the fourth house cusp (opposition parties/general populace/infrastructure). That applied whether or not the Sibley or the Rudhyar chart was used in analysis. Neptune rules campaign promises, which is a major factor in any election cycle. With Neptune on the fourth house cusp it was clear the American public felt they had been betrayed and deceived. Trump’s campaign promises, along with the campaign rhetoric of many of the Republican and Democrat candidates swung the election away from the administration.

Then, to top things off the progressed/directed Sun was opposite the natal Neptune of the US. Neptune was figuring prominently in Trump’s chart on election day, with a solar arc of Neptune opposite his natal Sun. We will come back to that. So, overall the election featured a sense of betrayal, broken promises from the administration and just a general sense that the country was not headed in the right direction, all of which swayed the election in favor of opposition candidates.

As to the election itself, Max Blumenthal gave a very good roundup on it. There were two major issues that swayed the election away from the Republicans:

The two items just mentioned are closely interrelated. It could rightly be said that the war on Iran caused regime change in the US because of the way it affected the US economy. But the war was instigated at the behest of Israel. Actually then, the second point above really made Israeli influence on the US a major factor in the outcome of this election. Trump has become a lame duck – a ‘failed lame duck’ in the words of Jon Ossoff, who kept his Democrat seat in Georgia.

The biggest demographic swing in the US was from the 18 to 29-year-old age group, which at the beginning of this administration was strongly aligned with Trump. But that age group also had witnessed the genocide in Gaza, the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the influence of the Israeli lobby, all as a betrayal of their trust. And there were many MAGA supporters who explicitly voted for Democrats because they disagreed with the war on Iran, seeing that the war was causing considerable hardship for the working class of America. It was that working class that brought Trump to office in this term. It was that same working class that gave the Republicans a trouncing this time.

Regarding voter swings, there were several large surprises in the selection. Kansas and Nebraska, once considered to be very solid Republican strongholds, went to the Democrats. Those are big farming states, and the prices of diesel and fertilizer figured heavily. Texas also swung blue. The Hispanic vote was a big factor there. Trump’s immigration policy and the actions of ice turned the Hispanic vote back toward the Democrats. It is hardly surprising there is a large Hispanic population in Texas. North Carolina, once a purple state, flipped blue. South Carolina, also a bastion of the Republican Party has flipped blue. Maine and Ohio also swung blue in the Senate.

Five Republican Governors were ousted – Georgia, Nevada, Ohio, Nebraska and Texas – all won by Democrats. There were 36 states contested in the gubernatorial races. The only such Republican gain was in Guam. In the House there was only one Republican gain, in a district of Texas. Otherwise the Republicans either held or were flipped. In the Senate the Democrats gained seven seats out of the 35 seats that were contested.

There were other major surprises, too. Georgia has the first black female governor in the nation (Keisha Lance Bottoms). Florida has its first black Governor (Republican Byron Donalds). James Talarico (look up the meaning of his name in Portuguese) won his Democrat bid for the Senate in Texas. Gina Hinojosa became the first Democrat Texas governor in three decades, ousting Greg Abbott. She is Hispanic. There were more, but it illustrates the trend of the changing tide in US politics.

Congress and parliaments are ruled by the 11th house in a national chart. Venus rules the 11th house in the US chart. What we see then, is that the Congress and the administration were both under stress and poised for change with this election. Some of the issues that really had a bearing on this election, besides Trump and Israel, were as follows:

  • Data centers and surveillance
  • The growth of AI with fears of job displacement and a ‘super AI’
  • ICE, which swung the Hispanic vote
  • Tariffs, which caused inflation and served as an extra tax on Americans
  • Foreign policy, especially concerning Israel and foreign interference in general
  • AIPAC and the Israel lobby. Israel-firsters lost bigly in this election.
  • Income inequality
  • Corruption
  • Backsliding on democracy

All told, the election was a referendum on Trump and Republicans. This election marks the end of the Trump era, the pushing forward of Trump policies, and deals a possibly serious blow to the US relationship with Israel. The latter will depend on who forms the leadership in the Democratic Party and how much influence the Israel lobby still has over Congress after seeing the results of this election.

Trump was seen as an Israeli puppet or asset by many voters, with a plethora of comments to the effect that MAGA had become MIGA – Make Israel Great Again. As it stands, neither Israel nor Netanyahu are looking very great at the moment. The latter was just handed his walking papers. His only salvation will be renewal of the war with Iran before the Knesset meets in a few days. But since we’re on the subject of Trump, it is useful to look at his chart in relation to this election. His chart with transits and solar arcs for the day of the election is below (bigger):

Much was made about the approach of transiting Jupiter to Trump’s ascendant before the midterms with some astrologers, adding that Trump might be happy with the outcome of the elections. Trump’s solar arcs on the day tell a different story. The main tell is the solar arc of Neptune opposite his Sun. Among other things, that solar arc can indicate general weakness, deception, problems with circulation and the heart, being subjected to subversive forces and betrayal:

    • Sun/Neptune: “- Illness, a person easily influenced by others, proneness to seduction. A person who is exploited by other people; great disappointments, chaotic conditions, entanglement in scandals.”

Notable is the fact that the solar arc of Neptune opposite Trump’s Sun came within orb in the first part of December last year, just before the outbreak of the 40-day phase of the war with Iran. Sun/Neptune combinations can also show as edema and around that same period people began noticing the pronounced edema in Trump’s limbs. The opposition will be exact on 11 December this year.

Also with his chart, we see a transit of Saturn square to Trump’s natal Mercury activating a direction of the vertex affecting his Mercury, showing a fated event along with bad news, giving a simple explanation to the combination. Mercury/Saturn combinations can also show as obstinacy, close-mindedness, difficulties with the nervous system and low energy due to nervous troubles. However, with Saturn affecting Mercury by transit instead of direction the main indicator is for bad news and nervous troubles.

Trumps fatal mistake from the beginning was indicated with a solar arc direction of his Midheaven to his natal Pluto, which is also the midpoint of his Mars/Saturn (death) axis:

    • Plu=Mars/Sat: “Brutality, the rage or fury of destruction. – The intervening of Higher Power, bodily injury or harm (murder, the death of a great many people).”

While the story goes that Israel launched attacks on Iran alone in the 12-Day War, which was a month before the exact conjunction of the directed Midheaven to Trump’s Pluto, Israel does nothing of that magnitude without first consulting the US. Israel is a proxy of the Washington establishment and Wall Street, which has become so enmeshed with Washington as to appear to have control over the United States.

Washington and Wall Street have long wanted to see the government of Iran overthrown, with the state broken up into manageable pieces. Israel has been instrumental in that planning, while giving Washington plausible deniability. So, what are we looking at from here then?

There are strong indications that renewed attacks on Iran may begin as soon as this evening. Netanyahu has only a matter of days to remain in office as PM and he would be desperate. Congress is supposed to meet next week in the US, where articles of impeachment against Pete Hegseth are to be introduced.

As well, a bill mandating disclosure of the Epstein files is set to be introduced by Thomas Massie. Thomas Massie has only a short while left in the Senate before his replacement will be confirmed. Thus, we enter a very interesting, if not dangerous period. If the war goes ahead, things will go from bad to worse in very short order in the US and across the world. If you meditate, hold the light that war can be avoided.

While the Democrats might be crowing at their victories at the moment, that may be short-lived. The fact remains that both of the major parties in the US are in essence a uni-party. The war in Ukraine and the genocide were both okayed and funded under Biden’s Democrat administration. Eugene Debs once stated the matter correctly, over 100 years ago:

“The Republican and Democratic parties are alike capitalist parties — differing only in being committed to different sets of capitalist interests — they have the same principles under varying colors, are equally corrupt and are one in their subservience to capital and their hostility to labor.”

People who voted just to see the Republicans and Trump defeated, unless they can hold the Democrats to the fire, have in effect gained nothing. Yes, we will likely see prosecutions for corruption, moves to impeach Trump (which will fail, given the makeup of Congress now), the possibility that Marco Rubio might resign to pursue a presidential run in ‘28, even though he says he doesn’t want it, and so on. And even if the bill passes to disclose the Epstein files, do not expect it. Exposing those files would expose the dark underbelly of the entire functioning of the Western politico – security structure. This will be addressed in the next full moon letter. The Epstein files really have nothing to do with individuals, but instead with a system that has been embedded in Western society for many, many years.

None of this is meant to sound negative. It is just a look at realities. Instead, we can take heart that the people have spoken, once again and have shown that they want change – real change. It is the people of the United States who will bring that change, not the politicians. We should not be looking for saviors. We, the people are the salvation of the United States. And with this election, it would appear that more and more people are beginning to wake up to that fact. But we must remember certain things.

Obama was elected on a platform of hope and change. Nothing really changed, policy-wise. What has changed over the past decades is that the lot of the average American has gotten worse. It is harder to make ends meet. It is more expensive to put gas in the car. Prices for everything are rising. And every politician promises that things will get better. Yet, we see that nothing much changes.

Negotiations in the political parties are already taking place for the strategy going into 2028. They are not making strategy for the betterment of the average citizen. The strategy is for who will next assume the throne. What were once called progressive Democrats, Democratic Socialists have been absorbed into the establishment system, the likes of AOC, Bernie Sanders and so forth. The Democrats held a majority in 2006, and they did nothing really to change the system.

Again, if we want to see real change then these newly elected officials will have to be made to answer to the people who elected them, instead of the system that seeks to absorb them. If the former can happen, then we have a grand possibility and opportunity before us, wherein the security state can be rolled back, wars can be ended, and politicians are actually held accountable instead of seeking only their own self-interest. In the immortal words of John Lennon, “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.”

There is one more point to add before closing this and we will see how well it ages: It is quite possible once the Governors and new members of Congress are sworn in, that Trump might resign. He will be looking down the barrel of a long litany of lawsuits. He is 80 years old now, in poor health, with his political career in tatters if not ended. If he is offered a pardon and he can claim some sort of victory from everything that has happened then it is well-nigh possible that he could pull a Nixon, say, “I am not a crook!”, and wave goodbye as he boards the helicopter to whisk him away to live out his last at Mar a Lago. Stranger things have happened, because in the end American presidents don’t go to jail. They just fade into obscurity.

As for the donor class, who had poured so much money into Republican races hoping to halt the blue tsunami, this election delivered a sobering verdict for them: Money can’t buy you love. Elon Musk himself poured hundreds of millions of dollars into red campaigns. He had moved himself and his companies to Texas, hoping to live in a red state. Now there are many people who feel only schadenfreude for Elon Musk. He can cry himself the Rio Grande, which is now blue, as far as those people are concerned.

Congratulations to all the victors in these recent elections. Now listen to your constituents and actually do your job as they elected you to do.
