It’s crunch time in the UK, with the recent announcement of a deal having been struck between Boris Johnson and the EU and with the bill finally being approved by the House, but the ‘paused’ by Johnson. The British press, largely right-leaning, has hailed the announcement of the deal as a breakthrough, and that Parliament must now follow through and give the British people what they voted for – to leave the EU. But is that really what the British voted for, or was it something else? As the title of this post suggests, there were ulterior motives behind the Brexit movement, and it is clearly shown in the astrology of the United Kingdom.
In a recent post there was a brief discussion of ‘revolution’ midpoints, that can indicate revolutions in nation states. This article will explore the revolution in British politics that was Brexit as well as an exploration of the veracity of Ebertin’s interpretation of how that works. We start with the following, then:
Revolution usually shows in midpoints three years prior to their actual exact position. The ‘revolution midpoints’ all involve Uranus – Ura/Plu, Mars/Ura, Mer/Ura, Ura/MC, Sun/Ura. In other words, three years prior to the signing of agreements, indicated by the exact direction to or from the midpoint, the revolution would take place. So, for example, if we were looking for a revolution in a nation, we would not look for an exact direction of one of the aforementioned to the MC or ruler of the same, but three degrees prior.
There are various types or revolutions – mental, military, scientific and so forth. But there is one in particular that relates to a fundamental change in the collective destiny of a people, often affecting their governmental structure, and that is the Uranus/Pluto combination:
“Anyone who has undertaken the task of going back many centuries in time to discover which events have occurred under certain planetary configurations, will not cease to be astounded. Of particular interest is a study of Uranus-Pluto constellations of the past 350 years, published by Reinhold Ebertin in the “Kosmobiologisches Jahrbuch 1962″ (3). Approximately three years prior to the exact due date of Uranus-Pluto constellations, important revolutions would flare up, which, at the exact due date, would have as a consequent the signing of treaties and appeasement.” (Ebertin, Combination of Stellar Influences, p.7)
The UK had such an astrological setup at the date of the Brexit vote, with a direction of Mars four degrees behind the natal Uranus/Pluto midpoint of the UK, and with the Uranus/Pluto midpoint directed to the UK Midheaven, presaging the shakeup to come in the UK. But, the former was not the three degrees required for a revolution, we might say, and that would be true. Ebertin did state that the needed revolution indicated by the midpoint took place approximately three years before the actual exact direction to the midpoint, as seen below (bigger):
But keep in mind, the Brexit vote was not a binding vote, even though it sent the Uranus/Pluto shock waves worldwide. Something more was required to make the vote truly revolutionary, and that would come almost a year later, on 29 Mar 17, when Mars was within a degree and a half of the Uranus/Pluto midpoint, generally accepted as being within orb for an activation. Article 50, required to leave the EU, was activated. Then, Brexit became the hoped-for reality for the people behind the Leave vote.
However, since two Uranus/Pluto midpoints were involved at the Brexit vote, what about the one to the Midheaven, which was exact on the vote and should have signaled something about three years before? What happened then?
There were several events in 2013 that signaled the Brexit vote to come. The House voted to legalize same-sex marriage, the UK lost its AAA credit rating for the first time since 1978, the UKIP party was rising in the ranks, the Conservatives published their first draft of their bill to leave the EU, plans for a Scottish referendum are announced, and the Iron Lady died. Although these may not sound revolutionary in themselves, they served to sow divisions in the UK, which the Conservatives used to their advantage in the Leave campaign.
And, the death of Thatcher was a symbolic event, whose policies have been the biggest single factor in England and Wales voting to leave the EU at the referendum. It was the working class in those regions who have been most disadvantaged through Thatcherism (neoliberal economic policy), with blame for the plight of the working class being successfully shifted to the EU by the Conservatives, especially over immigration policy. What does that midpoint direction to the Midheaven signify, then?:
“Restlessness, indefatigability, prudence, vision, aspirations for innovations and reforms, mobility, the instant grasp and exploitation of every situation.”
What we see with the present Brexit row is a growing reaction to the Conservative’s vision for the future of the UK, as witness by successive deals being voted down in Parliament. From the quote, Brexit was a vote for reforms by the masses, albeit a confused and misguided populace. The bolded italics in the quote show clearly the tactics of the Leave campaign, seizing on every insecurity of the British public and exploiting them to affect their desired result. That, combined with the direction of Mars approaching the natal Uranus/Pluto midpoint, set the scene for the Brexit vote and provoked the divisions and instability within the UK that we now see.
We have looked at Brexit and the EU several times in this blog (here, here, here, here, and in other articles here and here), so we will not go back over the old ground. Instead, the focus here is on what comes after the 31st of this month, should Brexit become reality, and even if it doesn’t. Nothing is certain until that date is passed. And even then, as we will see, nothing much is certain. The Saturn/Pluto conjunction next year will be quite telling in that regard.
Given the preceding, what do the present directions indicate, especially that Mars direction to the Uranus/Pluto midpoint? If Ebertin is correct, then any final agreements or resolution will have to wait for another year – just over a year from now – as we saw with the direction of the Uranus/Pluto midpoint at the Brexit vote in 2016. And to show how accurate Ebertin’s statement about that midpoint can be, when Art. 50 was triggered, that directed midpoint was within 3 minutes of exactitude on the UK Moon, the latter ruling the 10th house. Directions ‘move’ at a rate of a second per week, meaning the exact date would have been 3 weeks later.
The exact date for the Mars direction to the natal UK Uranus/Pluto midpoint is 11 Nov 20. And what does he mention about that midpoint?:
“Fanaticism, an act of violence, the mania of destruction, a state of precipitation. – ‘The stage of bending or breaking’. – Injury, accident.”
That pretty well describes what we have seen in the UK with the Brexit vote and the goings-on thereafter – the fanatical adherence to the notion that ‘the people have spoken’ on the part of the Brexiteers, the damage done to the psyche of the nation (although there is another side to that), the growing sense by many in the nation that the vote was a mistake, the violence it has incited (and which it might further incite if Brexit goes through), and the bending and breaking of public trust in their institutions and politicians, although that has been on the wane for some years now due to Thatcherite policies, producing the steady and deliberate dismantling of the social safety net that Britons at one time enjoyed.
Brexit has been called a ‘corporate coup d’état’. There is a book by that title, only a few pounds, and well worth reading for background on what really was taking place behind the curtains. What we are really looking at with the Brexit vote is an attempt at, 1) the wealthy avoiding tax scrutiny, due to come in with new EU laws on tax reporting, which would expose the tax haven/secrecy locations that had been set up in the Overseas Territories and ex-territories of Singapore and Hong Kong and; 2) an effort to turbocharge neo-liberal financial capitalism in the UK – i.e. to completely deregulate the British financial system and sell off the public assets, in line with Chicago School economics.
The Tory Brexiters – the main proponents of Brexit, but decidedly a minority of British Parliamentarians, are deadly serious in what they are doing. To use the old now-defunct and decidedly politically incorrect US expression, “They ain’t just whistlin’ Dixie!” However, they would like to take the UK back to the days when that expression was popular.
All is not well for the people who promoted and won the Brexit vote three years ago, however. With the current direction of the UK ascendant to Mars, we are seeing Britain at its most litigious we have seen in recent memory. The Ascendant represents the public mood, and we have been seeing mass protests against Brexit and Boris Johnson since the direction came into force (within 1° in November of last year and exact the middle of next month). Mars represents legal challenges in the UK chart, ruling the 7th house, and we can expect further legal challenges in the weeks/months ahead, although the effect will begin to wane slowly after next month.
However, the law is firmly on everyone’s mind, with the passage of the Benn Act and the efforts to hold the government’s feet to the fire. The Benn Act is in effect now, as Parliament has voted against the government and the current Brexit deal on the table was not passed without amendments. Either the government formally asks for an extension, to which the Europeans seem to agree on the surface, or legal action will be taken, including and not limited to jail time for Boris and other officials if they fail to follow through. So far they are trying to push the envelope.
Why, then, do we call Brexit an attempted corporate coup d’état? That goes back to the British chart itself (the UK chart). If we look at the 2nd house – the British banking system – we note that Scorpio rules that house, with Pluto as the ruler. This is suggestive of what we see in British banking, with the secrecy locations/tax havens, the shady dealings of some of its largest banks and so on. Scorpio in its lower expression does love a good scandal. And Pluto rules over underhanded dealings and subterfuge in its lower expression.
Further to Pluto ruling the 2nd house in the UK chart, it is placed in the 5th house – gambling and speculation. With such a setup it is no wonder why the City of London has chosen to set up its financial system the way it has. And that system favors moving money offshore, tax avoidance, opaqueness, financial capitalism, corporate fraud and so forth. To put the icing on the cake, the largest number of Brexiter politicians have their money in such accounts. What a hard Brexit would do is to turn the UK into a large offshore, low-paid tax haven on the coast of continental Europe. This is why Wall Street and Washington want to see the UK have a hard Brexit.
Will it happen? There is the question. If the present government stays in power, they will not have an easy time of it. There will be many twists and turns until the due date of the 11 Nov 20 exact direction of Mars to the natal Uranus/Pluto midpoint. And the government will be weak the entire time. We can easily see why with the directed midpoints to the UK chart below (bigger):
At the first Brexit deadline at March this year there was a direction of Sat/Asc to the UK Moon. It is worth noting at this point that the directions to the UK Moon tend to show the fortunes of the sitting government to a greater degree than directions to the Midheaven. It is also worth noting that the Moon in any national chart also represents the people in general. And in a democracy, the government should represent the interests of the people. Thus, in the UK, whatever affects the government is also reflected to a large extent in the people, too. And lastly, any direction to the Midheaven also reflects in the IC, representing the opposition and the people in general. So, the ruler of the Midheaven in the chart is the go-to indicator for the sitting government, with the Midheaven as a secondary factor.
The Sat/Asc=Moon midpoint speaks of depression caused by environment (the political mood in this case), inhibitions and separation of female persons. Theresa May had to step down due to the failure to pass her Brexit bill at the time.
Presently, we see Neptune midpoints having come into orb of the UK Moon: Nep/MC and Sun/Nep. The two combined point to confusion, weakness in functions, as well as, “People with utopian ideas, crooks or swindlers. “Man of big talk but not of action”. Weaklings.” There have been many comments to the effect that the latter pretty well describes the current UK government.
Then there is this to consider: In the first of 2020 there will have been two eclipses to the UK Moon and in the first of the year transiting Saturn and Pluto will activate those eclipses. There is an upset in the making, and perhaps the end of an old regime, or a hardening of the present one. It looks to be a very restive time in the UK, which is not hard to imagine the way things are going.
The outlook a week before the Halloween Brexit date as it stands is as follows:
The prime minister said earlier Tuesday if his “timetable vote” did not succeed in parliament, he would pull the whole legislation and instead call for a general election. If MPs make major changes to the agreement, despite agreeing to it in principle on Tuesday, the government is also expected to pull the bill.
So, even though the exit bill has been approved in principle, it could still be killed, now by the government. The hardline Tory policy has always been to crash out of the EU without a deal, and they still aim for that. If the opposition tries to load the bill with amendments, the government will kill it and call for a general election. Polls suggest that Labour would lose such an election. Polls also said that Hillary Clinton would easily defeat Donald Trump. But even with a victory, the government would still have to have a clear majority in the House to get legislation passed. Given the present divided state of the nation, nothing at all looks certain for Brexit or for the UK.
If by some sleight of hand Boris does manage to get the UK crashed out without a deal (which would require a general election and a clear mandate at this point), the outlook for the UK does not look good. There is another election and administration that is weighing on the outcome of the Brexit votes – the 2020 election in the US and Donald Trump. Boris is relying on the promises of the Trump administration for a post-Brexit trade deal.
There is a larger theme at work here, and it revolves around the neo-liberal financial order that rules the West and has done so for decades. A hard Brexit will only reinforce that system, which is becoming increasingly unstable and liable to collapse in the next years, if not months. The fight between labor and capital is taking place within the US and the ex-UK empire, now the UK’s 2nd (financial) empire. The outcome of Brexit is thus not just important for the UK, but for the whole of the West. If the hard Brexiters can be reined in, then there is increasing hope for the average citizen. If a hard Brexit takes place, then the cause of social progress could well be set back for decades, unless a wider collapse of financial capitalism dismantles the 2nd Empire and crashes Wall Street.
Here, then, is the closing point: Since Brexit has failed to pass as of now (it has been paused), since there will have to be another extension, the outlook is for more difficult times for the government, probably a general election, with an upset. The outlook further into the future, for the next couple of years, is for further tensions, many hidden factors coming to light and for fundamental changes in the current governmental structure. This is the moment that people of goodwill should be meditating for the awakening of the general public and the exposure of the scheming behind the scenes that have sought to dismantle social progress in the UK, the US and throughout the West.
Given the soul of the British people, these issues will likely be settled without much violence. But the mood of the nation is going to be decidedly strident. Often a good crisis brings out the best in people, though. This is what is facing the UK, and it is of fundamental moment in British history. May the present crisis bring out the best in the British, and by extension, the entirety of the West.
